V is coming back to ABC in a new television show
Not only are 80’s movies being remade but also 80’s television shows are being remade. You can add this one to the list.
ComingSoon.net tells us that, “ABC is developing a new adaptation of ‘V,’ the 1980s miniseries about alien lizards visiting Earth.” It’s been years since I’ve seen V but I remember that I liked it. That’s basically it. I’d have to watch it again.
“The new ‘V’ will center on Erica Evans, a Homeland Security agent with an aimless son who’s got problems. When the aliens arrive, her son gloms on to them - causing tension within the family. As in the original ‘V,’ several storylines will unfold simultaneously.”
ABC bought a spec script from Warner Bros with Scott Peters set to exective produce. There’s no word when filming starts or a release date.
ComingSoon adds that the new television show will open the same as the original; with the fleet of spaceships over Earths major cities.
Without a doubt, I’ll watch it when it premieres. I hope it isn’t a lame show like Knight Rider but I think it’s more important to say; why do studios and networks continue to leech off of existing material and basically steal original work? That said, I suppose I’m looking forward to seeing it but other than that, whatever.
